The European Federation of Light, Experimental and Vintage Aircraft
was founded by twelve associations, from eleven countries in July and October 2007.

Abstract of the statutes:“The purpose of the Federation is to promote, to support and to represent the interests of its Members at the European level, in respect of all relevant regulatory matters.”“The Federation will generally represent the interests of builders and restorers of aircraft and their operators.”“

The EFLEVA will act independently, but seeks to have good relations and work co-operatively with relevant national and international organisations.”“Full Membership of the EFLEVA is open to Experimental, and Vintage aircraft organisations of countries which are Members of the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC).”

“In the event that the different field s(that is areas of interest) are covered by different associations, each qualifying association may seek membership.”Commissions have been established lead by Vice presidents at Executive level covering our three sectors of interest: Light aircraft, Experimental aircraft, and Vintage & Classic aircraft. These will include and be supported by activities focusing on Airworthiness, Licensing, Operations and Airspace as well as specific areas of interest which will affect our interests such as insurance and security
